Michelle Buelow, Founder & CEO, Bella Tunno
is the founder and CEO of Bella Tunno, a personality-filled baby and parent accessory brand launched in 2005. Bella Tunno has two fully owned brands that are sold in over 3000 independent boutiques and numerous mass retail outlets including Nordstrom and Buy Buy Baby. As a give-back brand, Bella Tunno donates one meal to one child in America for every product sold. Since the launch of Bella Tunno, over 1.5 million meals have been provided to hungry children in the USA. Michelle and her husband, Todd, are also passionate about drug and alcohol rehabilitation efforts and are founding members of the Endowment Board of the Charlotte Rescue Mission. Michelle sits on the board of Fashion & Compassion, an organization committed to transforming the lives of women in destructive situations in 7 countries. In the summer of 2017, Michelle had the opportunity to travel to Africa and see the life-changing work being done in Uganda, Rwanda and Ethiopia first-hand. Along with their daughters, Riley (13) and Ella (10), Michelle and Todd reside in Charlotte, NC.
Sharon Decker, COO & VP Carolinas Operations, Tryon Equestrian Properties
is Chief Operating Officer at Tryon International Equestrian Center in Rutherfordton, NC. The world-class facility, located within Tryon Resort, is an equestrian lifestyle destination with 10 riding arenas, 1,000 permanent stalls, and a 6,000-seat stadium that hosts international-level equestrian.
After graduating summa cum laude from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Decker spent more than 17 years with Duke Power Company, now Duke Energy. She began with the company in consumer services and moved rapidly through the ranks to become the youngest and first female vice president in Duke Power’s history. Her work at Duke Power led to the creation of its 24-hour customer service center, an organization that still serves as a model for the industry. Decker left the position of Chief Communications Officer to become the founding president of The Lynnwood Foundation, which was created to restore the Duke Mansion in Charlotte as a conference center, and to begin the William States Lee Leadership Institute. Decker served as the chair of the Charlotte Chamber and was named Charlotte Woman of the Year, and also served as president of the Doncaster division of Tanner Companies. She created the Tapestry Group in 2004, focusing full time on encouraging individuals to grow spiritually deeper and physically, mentally, and emotionally healthier.
In 2013, Decker was appointed Secretary of Commerce by Governor Pat McCrory and served in that capacity for two years. During that time, she led the creation of The Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina. In addition, she led the effort to form a new Rural Division of the Department of Commerce, a team focused exclusively on creating economic growth in the rural areas of the state. In 2015, Decker was named President of NURAY Media. Decker currently serves on the board of Coca Cola Bottling Consolidated. Decker and her husband, Bob, are parents of four children.
Keri Holm, Director of Finance, Torrent Consulting
From point guard in the WNBA to head of finance in the tech industry, Keri Holm
’s career path has taken her on many adventures, and across countries. But at the center of it, one thing has remained constant: Her mission to make an impact. Today, Keri fulfills that mission as the Director of Finance at Torrent Consulting, a Salesforce consulting company with a heart for social impact. She relies on nearly 20 years of accounting experience to not only fuel the business, but raise up other impact-driven leaders (in both the U.S. and Guatemala) while she’s at it. And she constantly finds ways to get the entire company excited about finances. (Ask her about “Seussicals.”) Keri is also the co-founder of Dream Big Basketball Academy, a nonprofit empowering youth through basketball, and a former committee member of The African Children’s Project, which builds homes for orphans. She lives just outside of Charlotte with her husband and two sons.
Kathy Izard, Author of The Hundred Story Home
is an author and speaker who helped bring transformation to Charlotte in homelessness, housing and mental health. In 2008, Kathy led the city?wide effort to build Moore Place, Charlotte’s first permanent supportive housing for chronically homeless men and women. After Moore Place opened in 2012, Kathy worked on numerous civic projects most recently leading the development campaign for HopeWay, Charlotte’s first nonprofit residential mental health treatment center which opened in 2016. Her award?winning memoir The Hundred Story Home has been featured on NPR and inspires people to be changemakers in their communities. In November, she will be honored as a William J. Katie Nygren, Vice President, Bank of America Merrill Lynch
leads a team of banking specialists who work to understand a client’s business and proactively provide strategic advice and financial solutions. The team helps grow companies in the Charlotte metropolitan area. Katie is an Army veteran, serving as a Medical Service officer for almost 10 years including a deployment in Iraq. Katie lives in south Charlotte with her husband, and their 4 kids ranging in ages from 17 to 7 years old. Katie has an MBA from Wake Forest and a BS from Duke University.
Tiffany Eubanks Saunders, Carolinas and Tennessee Market Sales Executive, U.S. Trust
is a Sales Executive for the US Trust business at Bank of America Corporation. In this role, Tiffany is responsible for driving billions of dollars in asset acquisition by developing sales strategy and process enablement for the U.S. Trust Private Client sales teams.
Prior to this role, Tiffany served as Bank of America’s Global Support Services Executive, reporting into the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Group, leading global commodity purchasing, operations and vendor management strategies. Until recently, Tiffany also served as Bank of America’s Supplier Diversity and Development Executive, responsible for achieving Bank of America’s corporate commitment to spending $10 Billion with small, medium and diverse suppliers. Since joining Bank of America in 1993, she has held various positions in Consumer and Retail Banking, Commercial Banking, Card Services, Global Technology and Operations, Corporate Finance, as well as Global Marketing and Corporate Affairs.
Tiffany is involved in wide variety of professional and civic organizations, including her membership in The Executive Leadership Council (ELC), INROADS, Inc. National Board of Directors, the National Minority Supplier Diversity Board of Directors and the North Carolina A&T State University ? College of Business Executive Advisory Council. Tiffany was recently recognized as a 2018 Top Woman in Business, by the Charlotte Business Journal in her hometown of Charlotte, NC.
Joan Zimmerman, Founder, Southern Shows, Inc.
, along with her husband, Robert, founded Southern Shows, Inc. Joan's roles have included Development, Sales, Marketing, PR, Training, and all the little jobs in?between that keep a company growing. Her current focus is in an advisory capacity to the shows, with an emphasis on communications. Joan is involved in numerous non?profit organizations, running the gamut from Dress for Success, Women's Inter?Cultural Exchange, and McColl School for Visual Arts. She has served on and chaired dozens of boards, including The Charlotte Branch of Richmond Federal Reserve, Charlotte Chamber, Charlotte Visitors & Convention Bureau, and others. She is the founding Entrepreneur in Residence for the McColl School at Queens University, a 2009 recipient of the Thurgood Marshall Award for Excellence, and in 2005 was inducted into the North Carolina Business Hall of Fame.
